Hey Ya'll

Hooray-- I figured out my blog password! It was so unfun thinking about doing it all over and so today I bluckled down and tried every password I've ever created.

Things here are great.!Still very hot. This morning I tried out these gourd pumpkin decorations to see if we could do it in Young Womens. It felt like such an autumn activity. Then...I went outside into the Carolina heat and decided it was still summer--so we headed over to a pool party/barbeque at a friends. It was fun--but I am so ready to move on! Where are those crisp September afternoons?

The boys still keep us smiling and in stitches most of the time (minus Cannon's break-downs over not being able to wear his Quiksiver shirt EVERY DAY). Cannon started preschool this week and because he was a November baby he misses the grade cut-off date by exactly one month. So our first day, we walked in the three-year old class and some kids in his class were still in diapers and it occured to me that Cannon might not quite fit in. I didn't say anything because that's what you get for having kids in the fall, but that same day, the teacher brought him to our car after class and told me they had taken the liberty of putting him in the four-year-old class and was that OK? Of course, I said "great!" but it's weird to see him hop in the car with these little worksheets in his backpack. I suddenly feel like my baby is growing up too fast.
Funniest quote lately:
(Cannon is getting ready to go swimming but he has on all these random things including Dad's shoes) "Cannon, what are you wearing?" He looks at me and says "I'm dressing up like an adult for 'adult swim'!"
(who invented "adult swim" at pools? Why do lifegaurds need a fifteen minute break every hour? Adult swim is code word for "empty pool with kids around the perimeter screaming to get back in")

Henry is hilarious. Dad butched his hair as he thrashed around screaming bloody murder. Surprisingly, someone complemented us on his haircut and asked where we wnet so they could take their boy there. Maybe dad should open a Barber shop on the side! Henry likes to repeat everything. He still loves to sing Batman!
Favorite quote by Henry this week: (if you ask him if he hurt himself, he responds--even if Cannon isn't even home--) "Bonk..a..head...a...Cannon. Cannon bonked Henry"

As for the big people in this family--same old! H's schedule was great in August because he was rotating with the EMS service. He got plenty of days off and worked some Panthers games which was fun for him. But now he's back in the Emergency department. Atleast now his shifts are 8 and 10 hours each instead of last year's 10 and 12's. It seems to make a difference. I'm currently getting back into a more structured routine following a very laid back summer. It was fun to see so many friends and family during our August visit to Salt Lake. We love ya

Hope you don't mind I read your blog! Your boys are so cute. Don't they say the greatest things? Sometimes I wish I had a notebook and pen hanging from my neck so I could write every funny think Calvin says.
