Keeping Up With Cannon's "Changes"

So we've had both parents in town in the last few weeks. It's been such a blast taking them around and being with them. Grandma Megan came just before Halloween and got to be part of Cannon's preschool party (I'm the "room mom" so I put on the parties). Henry still wants us to sing "One Little Two Little Three Little Witches" all the time. I had a lobster costume all ready for him but when he refused to wear it, we went to plan B, Cannon's dragon costume from two years ago. Cannon was a Panthers player. He loved it--especially because it allowed him to "officially" do what he does LITERALLY all day long--dress up in different costumes.

My mom and dad (who came the following week) can vouch for the fact that there is no other child on the face of this earth who changes his clothes as many times each day--each hour--each minute--as Cannon. One minute he's Peter Pan, then he's Spider Man, then he's Harry Potter (no--he hasn't seen the movie), then he's a "naughty Pirate", then he's a basketball player, then he's a surfer. It's amazing...hilarious..and always a huge mess!

Two new things that happened to us lately: we got a minivan. We're stoked about it. And no, I'm not announcing anything--we just got it because the Subaru was feeling tight. Second, I had an article published in Charlotte Parent Magazine. http://www.charlotteparent.com/Articles/Features/FeatureArticle.aspx?cid=343 is an online version of it. It's not my favorite article ever, because the subject matter is sorta informational, and I had a two-day deadline. Nevertheless, it's a great foot-in-the-door. (I hope).

We miss you all, Happy Thanksgiving!

Yay for minivans! They are super cool and practical mom cars--that's just the truth. I'm sure I'll have one sometime soon too :)

Heather, Just found your blog through Jodi's--isn't the world of blogging great? Such a fun way to catch up and reconnect. Looks like you all are really enjoying NC and traveling around a bit. Next time you come to D.C. let us know- we have been in Alexandria, VA for a year and half now, and love it--there is so much to do to keep my little girls busy!

Your kiddies are so cute, too!

Heath-I don't know if you remember this about Betsy but she did the same thing...from about age 2 to...well, I guess she still does it here and there! It was really bad the first year we moved here...in and out of outfits and dress-ups 49 times a day. I chose not to let it drive me crazy...though little puddles of Betsy's changed clothes were found everywhere in my home--and I mean everywhere. Now she's down to only 1 or two changes a day which isn't too bad.

I'm excited about your minivan! It's seriously one of the smartest purchases we've ever made! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it.

Oh, and GREAT article. You really have a knack for writing and I am so proud to be your sis-in-law.

Loves!
Kate

Heather! I saw your blog name on the Richard's site, and thought I'd drop by. Jeff and I have been thinking about you guys lately. We even considered naming our fourth kiddo Harland because he's someone we both really admire. In the end though, we named him "Charlie" after his Grandpa. We miss great friends like you guys. It looks like all is well in Carolina. I can't believe how big your kids have gotten. I guess time will do that. Jeff and I wish you all a super New Year! Amongst all the craziness, I'll drop in when I can. Take care!
